Elder care in Westchester County, New York
Patricia Cipora Harte (Cippi)
Westchester Director DOROT Cippi Harte has been with DOROT since 2015 building the programs in Westchester. Cippi has over 30 years of professional social work experience and over 28 years working in the field of geriatrics and older adults. DOROT, the Hebrew word for Generations offers programs and services to older adults to help address issues of social isolation and loneliness. Older adults have wisdom and life experience that they can share with a volunteer who can visit weekly or occasionally. There is also a telephone option for taking classes and being engaged in life-long learning and an intergenerational chess program. We offer support groups on the phone recognizing how hard it can be for a care giver to leave home to participate in a group. DOROT Westchester is always looking to identify older adults to share their lives and experiences and recruiting volunteers to do the visiting. We offer information and referral for things that DOROT does not offer and aim to connect with seniors throughout Westchester. These programs and services are offered at no cost. Cippi and her team welcome referrals. 914-573-8906 pcharte@dorotusa.org www.dorotusa.org/westchester |
